After feeling angry, sick, tired and all those other negatives, I am now light and happy. Looking at life differently and still hoping for something better. I thought about deleting the last entry but nah, that is part of me. Its been some time since i have posted photos here. I think i will add some this weekend.

today i got ready, went to the crowne plaza hotel. met a few hopeful people like myself then my hopes were dashed. emirates did not choose me. and if they change their minds and call, i am not going. so many months of waiting...i real vex.

anyway God knows what is best for me and maybe this just wasnt it. i was looking forward to staying in 5 star hotels, eating good food, seeing spain, italy, brazil, france. well, i will just have to find another avenue.

I like stockings

although i live in a warm climate i love stockings. of course, i dont wear them to often but i like them. yesterday i went out. it was one of those rare skirt wearing moments and i caught two people watching my stockinged feet. it cracks me up. i try to pretend i dont see people watching my stockings.

The word friend is being bandied about these days without much thought to the meaning of the word.

Do your friends walk beside you or are you content to have them behind you. Sometimes you find out who your real friends are when they think they have arrived. Say for instance they get a new job or a new beau. Some friends may not know how to handle the new event in their lives and may take some time to juggle their social life and romantic or work life. 4. Your most embarrassing moment? When I was in secondary school after waiting a long time for transportation home I finally got an old taxi. When I got in, I sat on my umbrella and it opened on the driver. Some school children in the back had a good laugh saying ¨this is a hold up¨and other ridiculous things. I even laugh at it now.

5. Your happiest moment? Learning that I was spending 6 weeks in Bogota on a student exchange.

6. The biggest turn on in a man? Good manners and cleanliness.

Empty Gyro

i just decided to try the chicken gyro of the place that opened close to where i work. I had visions of chunks of chicken, tomato, lettuce even some corn. well, i was sorely disappointed. there were slivers of chicken - i hope it was chicken! about two stretched slices of tomato and shreds of cabbage with some sauce. the bread it was wrapped in tasted stale. i reckon they bought it at hi-lo. what a RIP OFF! tomorrow i make my own gyro. thats what you get for patronising holes in the wall!!

the poui are in bloom! i brought my camera today to capture their splendour but the batteries are dead so I guess I will have to do that tomorrow instead. i am still having a great time shopping for fabric. photos of those shopping trips will come soon.

I remember when i used to spend lots of time in Port of Spain after work. It would even get dark and i would head home then. My mother used to warn me that i might get caught in a coup doing that but i didn´t bother. I still stayed out late, but mainly on Fridays. Not very late though. Just till 7 or so. Then i changed jobs and didnt care to stay late in town. Another deterrent was the trouble i encountered for transportation. I have yet another reason to run out of town. Last week a woman was shopping for pirated DVDs on Broadway and a gunman opened fire on the vendor but killed her instead. Then a day ago a man who claimed he received death threats was gunned down on Frederick street around 7p.m. I am sort of wary now. Seems they are getting more bold. So I will try to get home earlier...but does it really matter? About two years ago a man was killed in broad daylight on the promenade. An innocent woman got shot too, but thank God she survived.

I am going fabric shopping today!!

Yesterday was a nice day. I finished washing my clothing then it was off to the Indian Exhibition in Macoya. I went to the free one. Actually I thought that I had to pay $3 to enter but seems like they did away with that. I bought a product that I hope will clear my complexion of my tan without any adverse effects. It was the same clothes and didnt see shoes I liked.

I then went to the mall where I pondered for a while then bought a cute dress. The photo is coming soon. Last night at the Oscars the colour was red, red, red. The dress I bought is about the colour of this font. I am never in style!

I remember the first few times I visited Catwalk I thought it would be the end to my work clothing worries. Yes, my mother can sew but she doesn´t do this very often for me. On my first day of work I was very anxious because my mother was hurrying to complete the blouse and skirt I so kindly asked her to make. I thought Catwalk would be the end to all this stress until I bought the green pants suit. Oh, it looked so lovely and professional and it was light and not some ugly green. I was very pleased with this Catwalk suit until I walked in the sun while wearing it one day. I was off to an interview at a top hotel when I noticed I was getting an awful scent. Kind of like if you are a little way off from a latrine(crude outside toilet/restroom). What could it be? I wondered. Soon enough I realized that my suit was perhaps better suited for cold climates. The heat caused a horrible scent. Where did they get the fabric?

Yes, I was pretty sure it wasn´t anything to do with my hygiene. I was very angry and vowed never to buy Catwalk clothes again. I broke that vow many times after. With such a lack of variety of low cost work clothes in Trinidad, I seem to keep heading back to Catwalk. What do I get for breaking my vow? Ill fitting pairs of pants. I even bought a blouse and when I tried pulling down the gathered right side I realised that it was flawed. The gathers were there to stay but the other side was smooth!! What the.... Another blouse I bought just got tighter around the arms every time I washed it. Catwalk still manages to churn out endless styles every month and always has a sale to catch people. I am proud to say that I have not visited Catwalk since last year October so maybe I have finally learnt my lesson.

I long for the day when I can afford to look chic and not burn a hole in my pocket. Maybe i will post the lot of my Catwalk seconds from China because thats what I suspect the odd clothing they keep overpricing and claiming that they have on sale are. (long sentence boy!)

Today is the day when lots of women and girls try to get others jealous by showing off what they got for Valentine´s Day. Yep, I am one of those without a significant other. I believe that some people really do try to show their love on this day though. I don´t miss Valentine´s Day though because I don´t celebrate holidays with questionable origins. Most people just don´t care about origins though, they don´t think it will offend God.

What I do miss is having someone to love romantically and who loves me in return. But, that is not just for today. I miss that every week. I am working on my faith though, I know one day God will bless me with that special person.

These cookies (one pictured above) are delish! I can´t remember the brand but I know they are quite expensive!

Why is it that humans think that they are better than others depending on where they work or what their profession is? I had a hard time as library staff member at a school because the teachers considered themselves above me. They tranferred their stupid ideas to the students too. Many people were rude and disrespectful. They assumed that I was not qualified enough to be a teacher so imagine their surprise when they found out I was a university student and I could have been a teacher if I wanted to. Thank God, I eventually graduated and got another job.

I just read posts on a site advertising cabin crew jobs with an airline. I know that flight attendants are really servants in the sky but whats so bad about that? The worst part is having to deal with obnoxious, demanding passengers. They still get to expand their minds and hearts by experiencing other cultures and of course, they get to shop, shop, shop! They do a great job most of the time as they smile under pressure and are kind even to idiotic people. But anyway, the comments for the airline job post were very negative. One person said that that type of job was for uneducated and dumb people. I guess someone who would say that would be one of the most tiring to deal with on a flight. Being a flight attendant requires humility and willingness to serve regardless of what type of day you are having. I remember Jesus when I think of what some flight attendants have to endure at work. Hats off to them. Thumbs down for the negative jealous people.

Yes, I am really a slacker. Maybe I don´t have anything blog worthy and so I don´t write like the daily bloggers do. Well, my resolution this year is to have a more interesting life. Right now its leave home at six, take two sets of transport to work. Do work, eat lunch, wait for four. Wait for transport. get home at six or after. A boring cycle. When it changes you will certainly be informed.

If you are reading this and you don´t know me you will eventually find out plenty about me. I am a native of the Caribbean who would like to travel ALL over except war torn lands, India and Africa.
